Is the Fluoride in your water and toothpaste harmful to you and your family?

Until you dig deeper, you may think it's safe. Dentists tell you it's safe, and even put extra in your child's mouth. Also, cities put it in the tap water, so it must be safe, right? Think again.

What is fluoride?

Fluoride is a mineral that's added to many products such as food, toothpaste, and water. We are told that our teeth need extra fluoride to make them stronger so we won't get cavities as easily. But did you know that the enamel on your teeth is as already as strong as steel?

If our teeth are as strong as steel, why do they decay and get cavities?

The enamel on our teeth is really bone tissue. With tooth decay and cavities, what's really happening is, the mouth is getting too acidic- acid along with two certain types of bacteria.

A neutral ph in the mouth is 7. But if the acids are higher and these two bacterias are present, together, they will break down the protective enamel that our teeth naturally have. The two bacteria are Streptococci and Lactobacillus. What feeds these two bacterias to make them strong enough to eat our "strong as steel enamel?" SUGAR!

When we consume too much sugar, that sugar feeds the bacteria. Along with the acidity, this combination eats the enamel and leaves us with tooth decay and cavities. Soda being one of the worst things we can put on our teeth.

For an occasional treat, make sure to brush and floss the teeth afterwards.

At the very least, rinse the teeth after consuming. Other harmful things for the enamel of our teeth that require rinsing after consuming are...Lemons, grapefruits, limes, pickles, sports drinks, wine, dried fruits, apple cider vinegar, and smoking.

If we take these precautions, we will not have the tooth decay that the professionals say requires extra fluoride.

These are the things that professionals will never tell you about. Maybe they don't even know? In 1955, the New England Journal of Medicine reported that "in the years after fluoride was added to the water in San Francisco, there was a 400% increase in the number of thyroid cancer cases."

The International Association of Oral medicine and Toxicology advocated against using fluoride in our water supply and products such as toothpaste.

Some of the health problems associated with fluoride consumption are....

-Thyroid disfunction causing lower fertility rates and even early puberty in girls.

-Osteoarthritis - Bone loss and pain.

-Temporomandibular joint dysfunction - TMJ

-Cognitive issues like... ADHD, Lower I.Q. and other neurological defects.

With all of these potential problems that fluoride can cause our bodies, brains, and endocrine systems, we need to ask ourselves, do we really need fluoride?

The answer is no!!!

Then the question becomes....

How do I get fluoride out of my water and toothpaste?

Our family started this process several years ago. One of the first things I did was tell the dentist "no" when he wanted to put fluoride in my son's mouth, and asked them to write that order in his chart.

Then I tried to find a toothpaste for us that tasted good but didn't have toxic fluoride in it. After trying many, we decided on two that we could live with.

My son likes and uses, Burt's Bee's Fruit Fusion for Kids. It is gentle cleaning, has a great taste and is fluoride and dye free.

My husband and I use fluoride free

Then we found a water purifying system for under our kitchen sink. A Reverse Osmosis Water Filter system that reduces up to 99.99% of Fluoride, Lead, Chlorine, Nitrates, Calcium, Arsenic, and more.
